Marriage Services
What is a Nikkah?
A Nikkah is the sacred Islamic marriage contract that unites a couple in a bond of love, faith, and mutual responsibility. It is a solemn yet joyful occasion conducted in accordance with Islamic teachings, ensuring that the union is both spiritually and legally recognised. Once the Nikkah is completed, the couple is considered Islamically married and can begin their life together with blessings and prayers from family and the community.
What Nikkahs do we offer ?
Our mosque offers three types of Nikkah services to cater to different needs:
- Religious Nikkah – An Islamic marriage ceremony conducted by the Sheikh in accordance with Islamic teachings. This is a religious contract and does not serve as a legally recognised marriage under UK law.
- Civil Nikkah – A legally recognised marriage performed by an authorised officiant, ensuring compliance with UK marriage laws. This does not include the religious aspects of Nikkah.
- Religious & Civil Nikkah – A comprehensive service that combines both the Islamic and legal aspects of marriage, conducted by the Sheikh or any authorised officiant.
